What we do

TRACsa works in partnership with established organisations such as medical colleges, academic bodies, insurers, regulators, professional peak organisations, service providers and community groups to offer:

  • research and evaluation of interventions
  • education and training for service providers (starting with the existing pool of providers)
  • community awareness programs and resources for the general public
  • resources and systems to support
    • service providers who deliver quality assessment, treatment, care planning and coordination
    • claims consultants and case managers
    • legal practitioners
    • appropriate self-care by injured people.

TRACsa's initial focus

The Motor Accident Commission (MAC) is TRACsa's principal funder. Under the Service Agreement with MAC, TRACsa's first and most immediate priority is to focus on soft tissue injuries (whiplash associated disorders which account for a large proportion of Compulsory Third Party (CTP) claims, and later in 2008-09, lower back injuries, which are more common in workplace injuries).
